Resize an image to exact pixel dimensions
Image resizing changes width and height in pixels, which is useful for profile photos, social posts, website uploads, thumbnails, and forms with dimension limits. Upload an image, enter the target width or height, keep the aspect ratio locked when you want to avoid distortion, then download the resized PNG. Reducing dimensions usually lowers file size as well because the output contains fewer pixels.
Unlocking the aspect ratio can stretch faces, logos, and circles, so use it only when the destination requires an exact shape and distortion is acceptable. Enlarging a small image does not restore missing detail; it creates more pixels by interpolation and may look soft. For a sharp crop, resize near the target size and crop in an image editor rather than squeezing the full picture. Keep the original when you may need a larger version later, because repeated resizing can reduce quality.
